Privacy Policy

Fontic is a habit and streak tracking app. This policy explains what Fontic receives, where it goes, why it is used, how long it is kept, and your choices. It applies to the app, this website, and messages you send us. Fontic is operated by Jackson Crabbe in Washington State. Contact: support@fontic.app.

At a glance

You can use Fontic without signing in. Habits and completion history then remain on your device. If you sign in with Apple, selected app information syncs through Supabase. Apple processes subscriptions, RevenueCat checks access, PostHog receives analytics only if you opt in, and Sentry may receive limited crash diagnostics if configured. We do not sell personal information or send habit names to advertising or analytics services.

Information we collect and its sources

Account and identity

When you choose Sign in with Apple, Apple supplies an account identifier and an email address you choose to share (which may be an Apple private relay email). Apple may return a given and family name during sign-in; Fontic discards these instead of saving them. You do not need to supply a phone number or create a Fontic password.

Habits, progress, and settings

You enter habit names, choose a build-or-quit habit type, start date, and reminder times. You record completion days and create streak history by using the app. Setup choices about goals and consistency are selected from fixed options. The app also stores your preferences, consent record, and optional analytics setting. Habit names are free text: a name such as “quit vaping” or “take medication” could disclose sensitive health information. We do not ask for medical records, measurements, HealthKit access, wearable data, or a diagnosis.

Purchases and technical information

Apple processes payment and may share purchase and subscription status with RevenueCat and the app so Fontic can grant access. Fontic does not receive your full card number. When the app connects to a service, that provider may see technical data needed for a connection, such as IP address, device/operating-system details, and app version. Sentry may receive error and crash diagnostics, if it is enabled. When you separately turn on product analytics, PostHog receives app interaction events; Fontic does not include your habit name, email address, or free-text entries in those events.

Website and support

If you visit our website, our website provider may process standard server information such as IP address, browser, requested page, and time to serve and protect the site. When you email support, we receive your email address and the contents of your message; avoid sending sensitive health details unless necessary. We do not currently describe an advertising pixel or targeted-advertising service on the website.

Purposes for using information

• Run the app: Store the habits you choose, mark completion dates, calculate streaks, show your calendar, and schedule the local reminders you configure.
• Sync at your request: Link your account to saved progress through Supabase after you choose to sign in.
• Provide paid access: Check Apple/RevenueCat purchase and entitlement status and restore an eligible purchase.
• Communicate and resolve problems: Respond to your support or privacy requests, investigate issues, and send necessary service communications.
• Maintain safety and quality: Use restricted crash diagnostics and technical connection records to troubleshoot and protect Fontic.
• Improve Fontic if you opt in: Review limited product analytics to understand which features work. You can turn optional analytics off in the app.
• Meet legal obligations: Keep or disclose information when law requires it, respond to valid legal requests, and enforce our Terms.

Where information is stored and disclosed

Without an account, habits, completed days, setup selections, reminder settings, and local consent choices remain on your device. Local reminders are produced on your device. With an account, your email/account ID and synced habits, completions, setup choices, consent history, and preferences are stored with Supabase. We use the following providers only for their stated roles:

• Apple: Account sign-in and App Store subscription billing.
• Supabase: Authentication and storage for signed-in account and habit information.
• RevenueCat: Subscription and entitlement management, linked to your account if signed in.
• PostHog: Limited product events only when you opt in; no habit names or free text in events.
• Sentry: Crash/error reporting when configured, with filtering intended to remove personal fields, names, emails, goals, and habits.
• Website hosting and email forwarding: Hosting this website and delivering your messages to support.

Service providers may process information needed to deliver their services under their contracts and policies. We may disclose information in response to legal requirements or as part of a lawful transfer of our business, subject to applicable safeguards. We do not provide habit entries to advertisers, data brokers, or social networks, and do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

How long information is kept

Local-only data remains until removed in the app, removed by the device, or erased when the app is uninstalled; an operating-system backup may persist separately. Synced account information generally remains while your account is active and is deleted from Fontic's account database when account deletion completes. Apple, RevenueCat, support email, website logs, analytics, and crash records may have different retention periods under the providers' settings and legal requirements. Retention in these systems depends on operational settings, legal obligations, and provider policies. Contact us to ask about a specific record or request deletion where applicable.

Export, deletion, and your choices

Settings → Privacy Settings in the app offers an export of your data and account deletion. Signed-in deletion removes your account and synced profiles, habit records, completion history, consent records, and privacy settings from Fontic's account database. Local-only users can export local habits in Settings. To remove local records, use the app's local-data controls where available or remove its data from your device. Deleting your Fontic account does not cancel Apple billing; cancel separately in Apple Subscriptions. You can switch off PostHog analytics in Privacy Settings. For help with access, correction, deletion, or an export, email support@fontic.app. We may verify a request before acting, and may retain information when legally necessary.

California privacy rights

The California Consumer Privacy Act applies only to businesses meeting its statutory criteria. If that law applies to Fontic and you are a California resident, you may have rights to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, the sources, purposes, and recipients; request deletion or correction; and limit certain uses of sensitive information. Where applicable, you may also have the right to opt out of sale or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising and not be discriminated against for exercising covered rights. Fontic does not currently sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Health-related habit names may be sensitive information if you choose to enter them; our stated use is to provide your requested habit-tracking and sync features, not to infer a medical condition or target advertisements.

During the period described by this policy, categories Fontic may handle include identifiers (Apple account ID/email), commercial information (subscription status), internet/network activity (limited opt-in product events and diagnostics), and user-generated content (habits and completed days, possibly sensitive depending on what you enter). Sources are you, your use of Fontic, and Apple/RevenueCat. Recipients are the providers identified above for the stated purposes. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of people under 16 for targeted advertising. Submit a California privacy request to support@fontic.app; you may use an authorized agent where applicable. We will explain any applicable exception or verification requirement.

EEA, UK, and Swiss privacy information

GDPR does not automatically apply solely because a website can be opened from Europe. Where GDPR or equivalent law applies, the basis for account and habit processing used to deliver the app features you request may be performance of a contract; optional PostHog analytics relies on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time; necessary security and crash troubleshooting may rely on legitimate interests where permitted; and certain recordkeeping may be required by law. Those interests include maintaining service security and fixing errors while minimizing information sent. Legal bases depend on the nature of particular information and local law. Health-related free-text habits may be special-category data requiring additional safeguards or a separate valid condition for processing. A general Terms checkbox or this policy alone is not necessarily sufficient permission for that data.

You may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing, request portability, and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. Email support@fontic.app or use the in-app privacy controls. You may complain to a data protection authority. Information may be processed outside your country by the listed providers. Contact us for information about transfer safeguards that apply to your information. We do not use habit data for decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects.

Washington consumer health data

A habit label and its history could identify physical or mental health status depending on what you enter. See our separate Washington Consumer Health Data Notice for relevant categories, purposes, recipients, and requests. The notice describes data practices; additional consent and product safeguards may be required depending on actual use.

Children, security, changes, and contact

Fontic is not directed to children under 13. If you think a child has provided information, write to us. We use account-specific database access rules and other reasonable safeguards, but no service is completely secure.
